I have a Randall #1 and plan to have the sheath professionally dyed black. Both the knife and sheath are unused at this time. Will doing this diminish the value of the knife, if it is to be used, or if it will remain unused?

TIA,
Jimmy

You could just go back and buy a second, black, sheath for your knife.
Then, if you use it or keep it, you will have the original sheath in new condition.

As Wild Bill suggested it would be best to order a second sheath in black. We make the RMK sheaths and when you try to dye one after it has been oiled the dye tends to bleed off. If not at first it will as soon as you wear through whatever sealer is applied to the leather over the dye. You will most likely get black stains on your cloths everytime you wear it for quite a while. Greg.
