Benchmade Value on a gold class Benchmade

I have a Benchmade gold class 480-131 and I am wondering what the current value on one of these is.

(Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. Can you point me in the direction on where I should ask if it is wrong?)

I think this is as good a place as any to ask (based on your membership level).

Unfortunately knives aren't like stocks, there is no "knife market" online where a person can look up the current value of a knife at any given moment. The best you can do is do an internet search for that knife and try and find the most recent "for sale" listings where the knife actually sold (like ebay).

Of course, like most things, monetary value comes down to what someone is willing to pay. Someone can tell you that your knife is worth say $800, but if you try and sell it at that price, and no one is willing to pay it, then is it really worth $800?

I know nothing about these knives. But I can tell you that in July, #46 sold at online auction for $1175 + shipping after 39 bids. Make of that what you will.

Agreed. At least a gold membership to inquire about value. Too many people probe this way to get a sale.

I'm the sucker who bought #46. I think I overpayed... but I'm not in the business of reselling. I'm "trying" to collect them all (gold class). I also am a sucker for abalone.

I think you could ask for $1000 and be fair. But I've also seen that knife go for over 1300 on auction.
