Value retention of Busse's...over time?

Busse's seem to hold their value quite well. In a few cases I've seen them appreciate somewhat.

Am I seeing right....do they hold well and even appreciate sometimes? Has it been this way since the beginning of Busse?

Is INFI the precious metal that never goes down when compared against the dollar??

Thanks

No hard fast rule.

I have been able to break even, even after modifying and using all the ones I sold.

The older models command a pretty large premium. Old straight handles, etc.

The more limited versions also do seem to.

It is important to note, that many of the new models are made in much much larger numbers than the older versions.

Some models don't seem to appreciate much, but do seem to maintain.

Depends on the model and who is looking on the exchange. No sure things. But it does usually seem that way. I am glad I didn't put my retirement plan in the SOW

Most Busse knives appreciate in value nicely, given enough time. It also varies with the state of the economy. There have been just a few models that have not done well pricewise, and this also applies to some custom Busses. Of course to get top dollar, mint condition is best, but even used SHBM's for example still sell for a lot more than the original price ~ 12 years ago.

This. I could sell my Ruck, and maybe make enough profit to cover the loss on selling the pair of SOWs. So it goes.

There was a bubble in the Busse market some years ago, as a growing fan base was chasing a much smaller number of knives. SFNO and FSH were very dear, among others. If one bought in that bubble, then one would be underwater on those blades yet.

Buy to enjoy, don't invest in Busse.
