New article about Uddeholm Vanadis 8, a recent steel developed to compete with CPM-10V. Uddeholm claims a massive 3.7x improvement in toughness over 10V! I tested their toughness claims as well as measured hardness and edge retention. And I wrote about the history and development that led to Vanadis 8. https://knifesteelnerds.com/2020/12/07/vanadis-8-better-than-cpm-10v/

Oh snap, did Larrin just use an exclamation point?!

Good article, really got into the details.

Vanadis 8 eh?

Right on.

By the end of the articles I was in a cold sweat to try some Vanadis 8.

10v is one of my favorites so I was thinking dang that's a bold claim :D

I still love my CPM 10V for its edge holding, but now I need to get my hands on some Rex 121, from your graph!

If wear resistance is your only requirement that would certainly be an upgrade.
