I was SO happy to get my new TiNi SEAL Revolver, it's a cool knife that doesn't get enough credit.

I opened the box, and the little booklet fell out. I thought it looked a little crinkled, but that didn't really bother me. It fell open on the page with the Revolver, which I thought ironic. Then I looked closer... someone had scrawled their name on the page (in ink) right beside the picture. I couldn't really read it, because it was scrawled, but it looked like first and last name started with R-o-b... Oh well, it's the knife I wanted, not the booklet, I am sure Chris can send me another.

I unwrapped the knife - very cool!

Nice useable blade, sharp, and looked cool to boot with the black TiNi. The upper guard is a little high for me, but I am odd that way.

Then I revolved the blade... which is cool... then I was incensed!!! Angry even... The saw blade was all scratched up!!! This was supposed to be a new knife!

Worse, the saw only cuts in one direction. If you push it across your finger, it just slides, it only grabs when you pull it... In the next picture you can see that the teeth are shaped so that the won't cut the other way. It also shows the details of the scratching.

Have you ever seen anything like it??? This time not only did RobRob scratch it, he got someone else in on it as well! Some guy named Spencer something...
I'll probably send it back!!!

Any thoughts?!?!?!

I think you should return that for a full refund. All of those scratches on the blade just ruined it.

Thank you Chris! That's SOG service for you!
To whose attention should I send it? ;)

:o ......................

Wonder how that slipped through ?

Hey?!?!?!? That name matches... Did you have something to do with this?!? :p
I tell you, give some guys a power tool, and look what happens - they just have to write their name on everything!:grumpy:

I keep telling you..... forget them folders and twirly-thingie things.....

Fixed Blade, young man, Fixed Blade is where it's at !! You'd never find that sort of vandalism in the Fixed Blade department.

Maybe now you'll (finally) heed my good advice......

Cheers,

Carl

Hmmm... it would be harder to hide... but that knife IS actually a fixed blade, just on a central pivot with a sheath that doubles as a handle.:)

Good advice? I remember a good quote, but can't recall the source "Free advice is generally overpriced..." :p ;)

By the way.......just how did you get a knife like that ?

Oh, glad to see your little green bulb on, now we can keep up with you !

nice looking knife. Id never buy it as i could not carry as edc. I have made it a point recently to only buy knives i can actually carry or get away with carrying. Unfortunatly sog has very few fix blade knives that fall in the 4 inch or less blade length that i have cards printed from emails form various gov and law enforcement people stating 4 inches or less no problem. ohio knife laws are lack lusted no switch blades no definition as to what a switch blade even is. Nothing that explicatly states a legal blade size.

Now if i still did alot of deep woods hiking id get a knife such as that to carry while hiking. Back befoe my knees got so bad id hike 10 or 12 miles in a day. Less than 5 miles from my house there are some small forests large sections of deep woods. From one side to the other can be a solid 2 mmiles. So you can explore those places for weeks on end and not cover it all.

Again great knife gona be a tresure for you im sure.

Obviously that knife was a gift from Robbie... almost 2 years ago, and very much appreciated. He is a great guy, and went to a great deal of trouble and personal patience to get Spencer's signature as well. ;)

I hadn't posted it until Robbie told me I could.

Obviously this is not a carrying knife, I'll pick up the hunter version probably for that.

Thanks Robbie, you're the best!

Well true but still the patern is a really nice one. Id not mind seeing one with a 4 inch blade (the qouted legal limit here in ohio). Maybe with 2 varied utility style blade instead of a saw and bowie style a drop point and sheep foot blade with scalops all along the edge. Those 2 blade styles could handle any day to day cutting chore that would come up.

As for that exact style well i may still end up getting one at some point as its really a nice looking knife and id not mind having one for my collection.

Jpalmer88, welcome to Bladeforums :D

I just don't know about this...............

I don't even have one signed by me and Spencer......:(
