I'm planning to add one of each of these to my collection of Buck knives. I usually like the wood handled versions of knives, over rubber. I see that Dymondwood is mostly what is used these days. I've even seen some on ebay advertised as Heritage Walnut, but upon further research, it's just walnut colored Dymondwood. If I look for a used Vanguard, does anyone know if any earlier ones had real wood, or any other interesting handle materials?
Also, does anyone know if the rosewood used on the folding Alpha Hunter is real rosewood or Dymondwood?
Any other thoughts or experiences regarding these two models, before I buy them, is well appreciated.
