hello, i'm just trying to get a solid answer on the vanguard gemini blade thickness. one retail site has it listed at .09" and another at .11". i cannot find any official kizer info about it. anyone have one and would be so kind as to put some calipers to it? or know for sure?

also, i'm really thinking about getting this knife, and if anyone has any thoughts, reviews, info, or other on it, that would be great.

thanks!

I measured the Vanguard Gemini blade thickness and it is 2.85 mm = 0.11"
It's a very nice knife btw. Compact, solid, nice F&F, good price.

You're welcome!
Btw this is the only Vanguard with a 0.11" blade. All the other Vanguard models have a blade thickness of 0.128" (3.25 mm).
Most models from the other (premium) series have a blade thickness of 4 mm = 0.157"

Only Vanguard Vigor and Gemini have 2,8mm thick blade.

Vanguard Gemini is great,i can recommend it.I prefer it over bladesmith version.Flipping action is so good..it is hard to describe ;)

Also fit and finish on Vanguard Gemini is superb..what else to expect from Kizer

The Vigor is not available yet so I did not mention that. The Vanguard Bad Dog has also a 2.8 mm / 0.11 blade but is also net yet available.
That is.... as long as Kizer does not change the specs for the final production run... I measured from prototypes.

The Vanguard Bad Dog is just like the Vigor a mini-version of the original version.

P.S. Few days ago i become official Kizer dealer for Croatia, and it is great honor for me to work with Kizer company.

Congrats Apolon_CRO on your dealership! I really appreciate you dealers sharing some of the upcoming designs.

That Kizer Vigor (it wasn't called that at the time though) was my first Kizer, just about 2 years ago.

I'll be all over that Vanguard Dukes! Looks great. Do you know if it's a liner or a frame lock? I'm guessing liner?

Thank you guys for sharing the great photos and info.

The approach to having names for all of the knives and product series are one of the steps we are taking to make the Kizer models easier to identify and remember. I'm partial to having a name attached to things myself, when I was considering a cell phone, it was easier to talk about "Samsung Galaxy S5" vs. the model number "G900T/A/I/F/etc." for different regions and carriers. I often feel the same way about my EDC knives and tools and was very glad to participate in getting all of the Kizer products categorized identities.

Kizer.

Dear Hackenslash thanks for your kind words and support! ;)

For now all Vanguards have G10 handles, skeletonized stainless steel liners and liner lock.

Maybe it will be good adition to make Vanguard with one side titanium framelock, and other side G10?

Hi, Apolon_CRO:

G10 front with Titanium back scale is a great idea, it gives the user a strong lock on one-side and grippy surface on the other.

We have this type of arrangements currently available in our V3 and Activ lines in the Kizer Prime series.:

Ki5404
V3 Magnum

Ki5414
V3 Magnum Vigor

Ki4401A1
V3

Ki4403A/B
V3 Vigor

Ki4404B1 / B2
Activ

Thank you.
