Vanguard Question

Bought an unused Vanguard. The date stamp signifies 1993 mfg. I didn't know they'd been out for that long. Anyone know when that model was introduced? It is the rubber-gripped model. The nylon sheath is longer than those I've seen on current models, covers more of the handle.

I guess so because I have four wooden handled ones, 1992, 1993, 1998 and 2007.

I believe that 1991 was the official year, I will have to double check
