Hello, I have been tasked with locating some nice hunting type knives for a bulk buy for presents for employees at a company gathering. The parameters I was given were that they had to be nice looking, US made, un-coated steel, an affordable price, and enough space on the blade for laser engraving a name.

Looking through some large knife sites I ran across the Vanguard w/wood grain handle, and I like the looks of it. I just have a couple of questions. Are these knives still US made, and what is the handle material?

Thanks you for your help.

Yes, they are USA made and the blades are uncoated. Here's the image and description from the 2012 catalog.

The Vanguard blade makes an excellent canvas for some blade art or engraving!

The Vanguard would be a great choice. Here is picture of mine if it helps. Obviously both of these blades are coated but the handles would be the same. FYI, the blades look short because of the angle the picture was taken at.

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it.

I really like the profile of the S30V Ergo Hunter, but I'm not sure there is enough space on the flat for engraving.
