Watched a video review and had to get one. Hopeful about the blade being centered. Will comment tomorrow as I expect it to be here then.

I bought 8 Vantage knives in the last few weeks and only 1 was off center. And it was the paperstone, which I think is probably the worst of the lineup anyway, so no surprise to me that of all of them, that one was off.

Although it didn't take more than a slight adjustment to the pivot screw to get it straightened out. If you Force shows up off, try moving the pivot screw a little to bring it back to center.

Nice color choice, BTW. I went with the Desert Tan, but wish I had picked the OD.

I was just going to mention that. I was amazed how easy the blade was to adjust on my Vantage Pro after I swapped blades with a Vantage Force Pro yesterday.

Good luck Flatlander....those are nice Bucks!!:thumbup:

Seller is in Hanover MA and knife was dropped off on the 25th. Estimated delivery date was yesterday but no knife and tracking has not been updated since 1am on the 26th when it departed the Rhode Island sort center. Maybe today or tomorrow. Christmas mail slowdown I guess.

Will post several pictures to be sure.

The knife came to day. It's perfectly centered and has rock solid lock-up opened and closed. I really like the additional features like the blade's thumb ramp and the textured metal back spacer. And I even like the new G10 handles. This knife is a real winner!!
This is the video I watched that made me buy a Force.

Oh yea, the thing is really sharp!!!

Thanks Flatlander!

I just watched the video. It was a very good review of the Vantage line and of Buck build quality.

The Vantage is an excellent folder and I use one often. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

I've had the knife in my pocket everyday since it came on the 3rd. So far the tasks have been light work such as opening boxes, mail, and some steak and chops. I haven't noticed any degrading of the edge and of course you wouldn't when giving Bos S30V such light duty.

The knife truly is a good effort by Buck to upgrade and improve the first edition Vantage. Additions/Changes that I really like:
a) The jimped thumb ramp. It really improves the feel for a push cut and general handling. It also gives an improved look to the blade's profile. +1
b) Blade is significantly improved with the light polishing and stone washed finish. Love the fact this one doesn't have the visiable grind lines of the older model. +2
c) The edge on this S30V blade was razar sharp. This was the case before but boy Buck sure does a good job with "scary sharp out of the box." +1
d) Jimped flipper is cool and an improvement. Just feels right and acts as a small guard. +1
e) Jimped/Machined metal back spacer: Cool, Cool, Cool!!!! I like to drop a knife this size in my pocket. No more coinage stuck in the back of the knife. Big Improvement! +3
f) Blade action/Centering: The pivot screw came reasonable tight so it takes some effort to use the flipper to open this knife without some wrist action. I'm actually okay with that. Blade is mostly centered but is migrating as the pivot loosens a tad. Not a butter smooth fast action but just about right for me. I don't know if Buck had a look at the washers in this updated version but $30 Chinese Spyderco's manage big bronze washers that do a better job of centering the blade and smoothness. Buck has opportunities here. Still calling it a +1.
g) G10 scale was a little busy for me at first but it's grown on me. In fact I can say I like it and I like that the Pro has several color options. It is very grippy which was the point. Definate +1
h) Still love the low rider pocket clip and have been using it for clip pocket carry.

Of course this knife carry's over the things that made the original Vantage a hit. This is nicely improved, high quality USA built knife that offers great value in materials, F&F, and design for a more than competitive price. No way a knife guy of any stripe doesn't have this one in the herd of EDC's.

Maybe the biggest thing about the improvement and changes in this knife is that it shows that Buck Inc. is listening to what its customers want in a knife like the Vantage Pro! Good Job!
