Vantage Force Pro belt clip screw broke, HELP!

Good Afternoon,

One of the screws holding the belt clip snapped off inside the unit, and I was hoping to get some help getting it out.

The knife is a Vantage Force Pro (serrated)

I Spoke with Buck and they are more than willing to take it back and fix it themselves at no cost. So this is not necessarily their fault.

Problem is, I use this knife every darn day, and being away from it for even a week would be painful. This by far my favorite knife that I have ever owned.

I can't seem to find a screw extractor bit small enough (5/64 is all I can find).

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks in advance,

Patrick

If you can find an extractor the right size, which it appears you can't it will cost you more in gas and money than the cost to ship it to Buck. Either take the clip off and pocket carry it or ship it to Buck and use another knife for a week. That's the only options I see for your situation.

You can get really small drills. Much smaller than 5/64ths. But, you may have trouble if your in smaller town or rural area. I would likely get one and drill a shallow hole in broken screw. You will have to use someone's drill press. Then I would put a tiny , tiny amount of epoxy on the reverse end of the drill bit shaft and place it in the hole. Let it get good and set and try carefully, maybe with small vise grips, to turn it out. Too much action and you will snap off bit. If that doesn't work easily maybe put the whole thing in the freezer a while and then try it. One man's idea........300

just to clarify, it's a pocket clip. Most belts would break the clip.

I would send it in for repair... If you cant be without your knife for 2-3 weeks (wait time during holidays) Then you could drill out the old screw and replace it like suggested above. You will need 3/64" drill bit and a replacement screw that has a 1/72 thread.
