Vantage force vs marksman

I'm carrying a large Vantage Pro and I think I have a Vantage Force but haven't carried it. That being said I believe I'd choose either for EDC with a slight preference for the Vantage as it fits my daily needs. For hard use I'd go with the Marksman. IMO the lock seems more robust for heavy use than the somewhat thin liner lock on the Vantage. Again, just my thoughts on the subject.

ZeroTurn,
I am a fan of the Vantage's. Here are a few pictures of the three that I have. I rotate between the three for my EDC knives. I have noticed that depending on what pants I wear depends on what knife I carry. This is because the pocket clips gap & thickness of the jeans are different. I carry them when I climb Communication tower. You never know when you may have to cut someone loss from 150ft-1200ft to get them free. Anyways, I use them to cut thick weather proofing tap & other material protecting the cables, zip ties & etc. They had an edge very well until you end up hitting the steel cable inside. As far as the Marksman, I could not tell you as I do not own one.

I have both. Initial excitement for the Marksman waned rather fast for me. Lock not something I was used to and I found the handle started to hurt my hand if I used it for long. Both are very good knives but I prefer the Vantage since the lock is easier for me (due to habit, not that the Marksman is bad) and it fits my hand better. Also, can be had cheaper which is nice.

I have the Marksman but not the Vantage, though I have handled a couple of them.

I have an acute bias against liner locks which admittedly, skews my opinion towards anything I don't have to put my fingers in the path of the blade to close. Even my CSART has been assigned to glove box duty which is a shame since it's a fine tough duty knife.

That being said, the Marksman has replaced all other knives in my collection for daily carry/use. It's light, tough, quick to open and close, feels great in hand, etc.. The clip is tough on pockets though. My remedy was simply a length of 550 cord through the clip that works as a buffer between the clip and the edge of the pocket.

One thing I'm struggling with though is sharpening the blade. I think I'm making it too sharp and keen because I feel like I'm touching it up too often. Maybe ill stop at 600 grit and see if that will help. But that's an entirely new discussion to have some time.
