Anybody ever ghetto wave a Vantage? For those who don't know, "ghetto waving" is when you put a zip tie around the opening hole of a knife so that it acts as an Emerson wave.

dugh .... i is lost on this one..
like a ceiling, over my head
i guess a pict might tell me a lot..

Can't say that I have. But then again I don't own a Vantage.
Even if I did, I really don't think I would do that.

hope this works here is a pic. albeit a funny looking vantage. :) Actually it's one thing I quite dislike on knives is
the wave feature. Primarily because when I don't want the knife to wave it does and leaves it half deployed which
if one isn't expecting it is somewhat dangerous. I have one knife like that and it'll be trading fodder one of these
days. Just my opinion though. :)

Just checked out my Vantage and I can see where it should work without issue. Haven't tried it though since it's just not my thing these days.

Looks like it will work fine though.

Thanks man, that's all I needed to know. I was thinking of getting a select and doing this.

so you can open you knife faster than an auto. that is the purpose. just youtube "emerson wave" and it will become clear.

Don't sound like a good idea, especially if you plan to have children some day.The flipper is pretty quick.

I had a large folder with the Emerson wave feature. Ground it off. When I carried IWB, it caught on my clothes and opened when I didn't want it to. Carried in my right front pocket, the motion to open the knife was to the rear. Not to the front. Pointless.

Let us be honest about this thread.

Modifications to knives that make them unsafe are stupid and irresponsible.

Using racist expressions like "Ghetto Wave" is hate speech that encourages harmful racial stereotyping and disparages people of color.

Neither of these unwise behaviors is worthy of the Buck forum. This thread should be trashed.

What's more racist, me using "Ghetto Wave", or you assuming all ghettos are inhabited by "people of color"? I didn't coin the term, but since you drink the PC kool aid maybe you should come up with an alternative. How about "shoddy wave" or "cheap wave"? Do you feel all warm and fuzzy inside now?

As for the wave mod, it's as safe as the thousands of Emersons with the same feature that are in use this very moment. Not a problem if used correctly and with care. If handling sharp things scares you, why post on a knife forum?

Maybe its racist to assume that the term "getto" has anything to do with anyones skin color. I'm pretty sure "getto" has to do with a persons economic status and were they live. Perhaps not being able to afford a $185 Emerson with a wave feature and instead improvising with a 4 cent ziptie is described as "getto" because of the economic implication.
Not trying to piss anyone off just my two cents.
