Vantage PRO - blade leaning to the right++

Hello, having had my new Buck Vantage PRO for a few days, I have discovered some surprising facts.

1. When the blade is open or locked it is not straight , but leaning rather heavily to the right.
2. When blade is closed it is not centered.
3. Blade edge has a dent in it very close to the tip, but it is not touching the metal when closed. However as I can see a mark in the metal underneath, it seems clear that at some point is has been in contact with this metal.

I have not had a linerlock before, so I dont know what to expect. But overall this is far away from my classic ( and classy ) lockback Buck.

Question : Is it normal that the blade is not at a straight angle when open ?
Wont this affect the cutting precision of the knife ?
Should I give the knife back to the store ?

lands,
Welcome to the forum.
Is your NIB, if so, what is the date on the box? These knives had some centering issues when 1st available, but seem to have been worked out. As always it can be sent to Buck under 4ever warranty for repair or replacement. Some folks on this forum have taken apart corrected. I would be more concerned with the off center blade open than closed. Mine is off center rt with closed tip facing me. You can tighten the pivot screw and it will center it but may make the travel too stiff for your liking if you use the flipper.

Thank you imafritz.

The knife is new in box, bought one week ago in a store. The date on the box is 09-24-09.

Update : The knife has been returned to the shop. For me the mentioned issues was annoying. I`ll be happy to buy another one, but the others in the shop where the same or worse, so I took a full refund instead.

Sorry to hear about that lands, I dont blame you for taking it back, sometimes I still consider sending mine in. You can pick em up places like Knife center or Cutlery shop and they should have newer stock, prices are great but you must consider shipping-either 7 or 8 bucks.

That`s a good idea, and on those the issues defenitely should be ironed out, coming later onto the market too.
