By blade isn't centered in the handle when closed. If I tighten up the pivot screw it will center, but after awhile it moves back over to the right and rubs the liner again.
I've heard of the earlier Vantage Pros having this type of problem but I thought they had fixed it in the newer models.

Dr,
Sorry to hear about that. I thought they were too. Whats the production date on the box? They can be adjusted by you and there are a few posts in related threads from last year on how to, if you do a search. Or send it back for warranty. Welcome to the forum btw.

Does it rub on the side or is it merely off center?

I don't see a need for the blade to be centered in the closed position as long as it does not actually rub against the frame.

I got two of these a few months ago. One was perfect, the other was not centered and slightly clicked against the liner. It was also a little tough to open as the liner lock seemed to push harder than needed. I took it apart and cleaned it, buffed and lubed the washers and put it back together. While assembling it I snugged down the pivot before the scales. This revealed a scale that was slightly warped. After the pivot was set so the blade did not touch the liner the scale screws were tightened down from front to back. This ensured that the tension from the slightly warped scale was directed to the back of the knife instead of the center area of the liner. The blade, while not perfectly centered, no big deal, no longer touched the liner. After flicking it open and closed about 50 times it got real smooth. Gave it another drop of lube and reset the pivot with a very slight adjustment. I do not locktite my pivots. They just get readjusted as needed. It's all good now :D. If you don't have the tools to do this send it in to Buck. They will make things right.

I don't have the box but on the blade the symbol is the arrow pointing to the left ( <-- ) so it is a 2010 model. Not to mention I just got it last month.

I'd probably try some loctite to keep the pivot from loosening. Or send it back to Buck and I'm sure they will take care of you

Hi Doc,just send it back to Buck with a note describing your problem. You don't need the original box. They will make it right for you,it's a great knife.
