Want to remove clip.
What size wrench to buy?
Hex or Torx?
None of my folding key sets fit.

Seems like a really nice knife for the money.

:):thumbup::)

Want to remove clip.

Oh... :(

I thought this was going to be a "How To" tutorial...Like the Buck Forum had in years past...Where guys who took apart 110's would post how they did it, what tools they used, where they got them, how much it all cost, time it took, all kinds of good info...

And they followed up with doing dual-blade conversions; similar blade swaps; links to suppliers...

What happened to those threads??? Why aren't the real manglers posting tutorials on what they're producing???

Anybody can go on eBay and buy an old Buck knife...

Where are the real innovators here???

Let's see *how* you do what you do... ;)

(...That voodoo that you do...) :p

Well I could bend the pocket-clip back and forth a couple of times till it snaps and breaks.

:):):)

"...bend the pocket-clip back and forth..."

I wouldn't do that as it will leave a sharp edge. Better to use an aceteylene torch, heat the clip till it glows cherry red, then hit it with the oxygen,,, works every time.

Its a T-6 torx

Go to the local parts store and buy one. Or if that is too boring-go to the local garage and wait til the big hairy mechanic isnt looking and try to sneak into his box and swipe one. You may need to lift the keys out of his pocket. Either sleeping pills slipped in his coffee or hypnosis to keep him sleeping would work. For hypnosis, you would have to get on a different forum for a tutorial on how to hypnotize:p:p:p

Now that would be some very interesting threads.

Only if you're planning on making a new better one to replace it...and take pics of you making it... ;)

Sorry for the rant... :D

Seems like there is a lot of talent on this forum...but all anybody ever posts is the finished knife...not the in-progress pics...

Now, I can understand why a typical mangler wouldn't want to post pics of his mistakes...I spent 6 hours yesterday working on a "retro" bayonet grip, which I eventually threw in the garbage...I don't want anybody to see those pics...(Zoom! - Whack!!!)... :eek:

But I'd like to see what people are using for their "grinders" (what I call a ribbon sander)...and their modified platens... :cool:

And their buffing setups...and rouge...and even sharpeners... ;)

Well Trax,I would like to see that too. The last one I took apart ended up
in the trash also.So lets see those how to pic's.

Don't do that. Take it from him at knife point. Menace the big sweaty hairy mechanic with the actual Vantage Pro (not dis-assembled, of course). Ironic, no?

K-Lastima, Glad you like the Vantage Pro. Sorry for the thread drift.
Welcome to the Buck forum.:thumbup:

Woody, You are so right my friend.;)

Went to Sears Hardware and got the right tool.
The knife now fits real comfortable in the hand without the clip.

Thanks for the welcome Hawkeye.

:cool::cool::cool:

Somewhere at the top of all of this Trax had a good idea. In the past people would show before and after pictures of their work or work done by others. There have been some posts lately but not that many. A long time ago someone took off the handle of a 650 and never showed us the re-handled knife.

K-Lastima, most knives use different size Torx. I have seen a few Allen but more Torx.
