Wondering if anyone knows if there is any mechanical difference between the 345 and the pro models as to why the 347,845,and 847 (besides blade steel) all flip open and close so much smoother? The pro mod's. Almost seem to have bearings. I've had the 345 apart for cleaning it flips open so it's not to tight. It just not near as smooth and has never been. Thank's in advance . My favorite Buck. 110s too.

I know my select took forever to get smooth. Maybe the force of throwing in the trash can and pulling it back out repeatedly knocked something loose. I can't help with an answer to the question, but I'm glad you asked it because I'm interested in the knife but don't know if I would ever buy another. I hope someone can put in a good word for the avid with rosewood scales....

Never had to take any of mine apart and I think the 800 series blade is heavier.
