variable speed question --

Alrighty -- Is there any reason why this shouldn't work for variable speed on a Grizzly? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=43584

I've been told they don't work on capacitor-start motors, Michael. Would be a nice cheap fix and everyone would be using them if they did.

My experience is that it may run the motor but power will not be there. I wouldn't try it.

I asked the same question. Was told it would not work. The explanation I got at the time was good enough to keep me from pursuing it any further....sorry I can't remember it....
