How To Variable Speed Switch

Hi There.

I have a 1X42 belt sander grinder.

The fan/blower motor that came with it is: 115V, 1/4HP, HZ60. Came with a standard on/off switch. I would like to install a variable speed switch.

Checked Amazon (Canada) and they have hundreds of them from 10 dollars and up. Not sure which to order.

Any suggestions? Thanx in advance.
 
Most likely it won't work. You can try any cheap one from Princess Auto or Amazon, but the motor most likely will overheat.
