Oh man, oh man, what a show!!! We had a blast!

All the new stuff was incredible!

One of my favorite parts of the Busse booth was the table dedicated entirely to variants, customs, etc. There were over fifteen variants, actually, and all of them were stunning! There were several Steel Heart variants, several Natural Outlaw variants, a BAG3 Variant, two Arctic 1's, two Argonne Assaults (one was the 9.5" bladed one  ) , a SJ variant, a Bad Apple, and probably some others I'm forgetting. All were amazing. Since so many people took pics, I decided not to. Eric should be by in a while with some pictoral backup :)

Chuck (1WB's) and the Skunks took their bites out of the variants, and all but one or two were sold by the end IIRC. In fact, we sold out of nearly everything!

The new 4.5" models were amazing! They seem to be just the right size for general utility, EDC, hunting and skinning work, et cetera. The Groove Master has to be felt in the hand to be believed! Those thumb-placement slots in the spine are perfect for choking up for ultimate control, and everything about the knife just seemed to fit like a glove. The Killer B with a micarta handle was also great! Nice fine point, low aspect ratio, and a nice taper, and you've gotta love that choil :D We got several orders by hunters who just fell in love with the knife. The new tanto is a real breath of air from the americanized tantos you see most often. It has a really nice amount of belly, yet still has a very strong and fine point that would penetrate easily. It would make a great self-defense blade, IMHO, as would the 4.5" range in general. The BA3 was great aswell! It seemed like a great all-round small camp knife, with plenty of belly for skinning and a great blade shape for general camp chores.

The Busse Snakeskin Nukarta received a VERY warm welcome! Almost everybody who stopped by the booth commented on how just plain cool it looked. Many people placed an order for a SSN handle rather than taking home a black micarta handle they liked it so much. And with all its great looks, it still grips wonderfully.

I was really looking forward to handling the new skeleton knife, and I was not disappointed!! It is the perfect size for a neck knife, IMHO, and would also be a great size for front pocket sheath carry and a general EDC fixed blade. It is a little under 3/16" stock, perhaps around 0.150" thick. I couldn't leave the show without ordering one of these babies :D

Don't even get me started on the Swamprat Knives! I was absolutely shocked by the cinderblock chopping demonstration as well as the other amazing tests (90 degree flex, for example :) ) that were on the video playing there. I'm sure Jerry will have more on that later, with tons of pics, and perhaps even a movie of it. Let me just say that the performance of these knives is incredible....I was shocked, frankly. I'm not surprised that Jerry's glad Busse and Swamprat are on the same team, lol :D ! From what I've seen, Busse Combat and Swamprat Knives seem to be different players on one larger team.

There will be lots more info and discussion on Swamprat knives soon, just stay tuned :D
If you haven't already, check out the website at www.swampratknives.com (great site)

Hopefully Eric and perhaps others will show up soon with some pics, what you guys really want to see :D

I'm home!!! Just got in, I've got pics of all the Busses and Variants and happened to find a few Busses of my own to bring home :D:D

I'm dead to the world and will be posting pics and more info tomorrow.

I hope you can hold out one more day. ;):D:D

It was a pleasure to meet everyone that stopped by the booth.

It was a blast and it was great to meet everyone face to face also!:D

I sure can't wait for my Swamprat order to come in!!! Those knives are incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, after a little sleep I'm ready to give a little info.

First off, there was a tremendous number of Variants and Customs that just blew me away. Some of the nicest stuff I've ever seen, and the first BAg3 variant out of the shop. The 4 new 4 inch models were all great I believe the Groovemaster is the sleeper of the bunch. Anyone that handles it soon finds how extremely comfortable and useful the enlarged choil and grooves are. It can be easily held in at least 4 very comfortable grips. I'm sure looking forward to getting mine. The tanto is also a very nice design and as Andrew mentioned gives you all the benefits of a Tanto without becoming to "square"

Enough talk lets get to some pics. Sorry I'm not a photograpy, but I think you guys will forgive me this time ;) I'm sure I'll remember more info later and will post it as it comes to me. :D:D

Here are some variants, if there are any questions get in touch with Marc at marc@bussecombat.com

Oh, I remembered one other thing. For you guys that left before late Sunday afternoon you missed quite a treat. A previous Busse customer from the Early 80's brought by a piece never before seen on the Forums.(and no 1WB's nor Idaho own it ;)) It was incredible and mint:eek:

How's that for a teaser. Sorry no pics at this time. ;)

More Variants

Some more Variants including a Mojo that has some aftermarket work done ;):D:D(now owned by 1wb's)

New Skeleton Knife in the hand. This is going to be a great knife. A lot stronger than it looks, but would you expect anything less from Busse. :D

Thanks for stopping by, Eric ;) :D

Let me tell you guys, he is absolutely right about you guys who didn't stay until late Sunday of the show. That piece was unbelieveable! Even Jerry nearly fainted. Rare my friends, rare as hens' teeth :D
