I wanted to show you guys some interesting Variants. The first pic shows the differences between the Satin finish and the new Bead Blast which is a marked improvement of any Bead Blast that I have ever seen. Frankly it a great compromise between the utility of a black coated blade and the good looks of a satin finish.

For those of you who had a tough time deciding between Satin and Bead Blast, I heartily recommend this new Bead Blast. Unlike other bead blast finishes, this one uses a process that does not promote rusting by putting "microscopic pockets" in the steel (INFI) that would hold water.

The one on top has the satin finish the one below is the bead blast. The bead blast one, by the way, is the only straight handled triple grind double edged variant that Jerry has made. Both knives are sold, but contact me if you have any interest.

Gundy - It is an "E" handled SteelHeart Variant 3/16" with a unique undulating spine and false edge. Also, it has a Satin finish as I said earlier.

Interesting. Can you give us any more info on this?

Is this finish easier to apply than a satin finish?

I like it....can you please send me the scary details via email? Also, just confirm that the 'skull crusher' can be ground or rounded.

(My email is playing up when I try to send..but I can receive):(

Andrew - the bead blast finish actually takes more work because it is one step beyond the satin finish. Jerry has to take the blade to satin first and then put it through the bead blast.

Those are some very nice looking knives. ;)

I also appreciate the info on the finishes, learn something new everyday. :D:D

Thanks

This straight handled Steelheart 3/16" Variant is in satin and has a gorgeous grind !

I want that 5/16ths inch Steel Heart variant. Is it for sale? If so, how much is it?

Mike

I call this one the Wahoo Variant - it doesn't look like anything else, and it is seriously fast and wicked (just like the Wahoo, which is the fastest fish in the ocean).

STOP THAT!!!! You are a mean mean person for torturing us with these Variants! I'm tired of standing at the soup line!

That is a thing of beauty! Great name too.

That handle looks really ergonomic....the whole package is amazing. Great job Jerry! :D

Jeez, now I get it!!! I know why there is no folder yet!!
Jerry's been grinding variants!!!! :p ;)

Andrew -

The 'Wahoo Variant' is extremely ergonomic. Its handle and blade shape make it the fastest Busse I have ever had the pleasure of handling !

As Jerry will happily tell you, my picture-taking is terrible and certainly doesn't do these knives any justice. (Since I don't get a company car, credit card or even business cards I thought I might at least get a new digital camera out of him if I put up enough bad pics!).
