Variations of Bob Lum Chinese Folder?

Hello All. I'm a long time Lurker on the Spydie Forum and i have to say that although i don't have any Spyderco Knives, I am Going to start getting some soon. My first will be the Bob Lum Chinese folder and i was wondering if there were any handle variations other than the green aluminum? I love the green but i thought i saw one with a black handle the other day. was I seeing things? It seems that everyone that has one loves it but i was wondering if there were some other opinions of it. can anyone here help me out? (does anyone want to sell me theirs cheap :D talk to me guys:) thanks a lot

A run of 800 blue -- gunmetal blue -- almite knive is anticipated in the near future. Many of those will go to the members of the collectors club, and I believe the run was actually at the behest of a European vendor. Got the feeling that not a whole lot of them were going to be available to use, the general public.

I believe the trick is to pre-order one from a reputable dealer who won't charge your card until the knife ships. 1SKS come quickly to mind, as a company that will take such orders.

Other than the blue, haven't heard about any other colors in the offing.

I think you're choosing a fine knife, by the way. Very different from the run-of-the-mill knives, and trul beautiful to my way of thinking. And, VG-10 steel to boot. A great knife!
 
You might have seen one of Bob's orginals. He makes the Chinese Folder in 3 sizes and has been known to use black G-10 or micarta as handle materials. He did do one in Carbon fiber.

Thanks for the info guys. I thought I messed with a black g-10 handled one in the store but i was probably just smokin crack or something. i actually probably messed with about 15-20 spydercos that day so they all probably ran together. except for the Veile. I distinctly remember that one for some reason. I think i'll just get the green Chinese folder anyway since i really can't afford to buy a knife just to look at and i'd feel guilty using the hell out of a limited production blue handled one. The green has actually grown on me and i definately look forward to getting one. it seems the green color just gives me a good positive feeling like good will come out of it(yeah that did sound pretty wacko sorry guys but it's the truth.) thanks again for the replies and i hope to be posting again soon.

actually i don't think your statement was weird at all, i get a very good feeling from my green handled bm 940
very nice knife by the way

I like to call that "Knife Dyslexia" :D

I get it a lot after drooling over the knife shops on line for 8-10 hours.
