In our never ending quest for information regarding Emerson Customs we're going to try to get a account for the various Logos, blade variations, and so forth on the customs. For example I've got a CQC6 with a serrated blade and I've never seen or heard anyone mention that they have either seen one or own a similar one. Is it a one of a kind or are there others out there as well?

First we'll start with the CQC5's and CQC6's. Please either list under this thread your variations, or if you don't want the information to be made public you can as always e-mail me.

After we've gotten the information on the 5's and 6's we'll move on with a new thread on a couple others. Please be patient in seeing the information appear on the Gallery as there is getting to be a lot of information on the thread and it takes a little while to compile the information and get it posted.

Model: CQC6
Logo: Emerson Specwar Knives, old style - no date

Blade Finish: Satin (silver thumb wheel)

Grind: Secondary bevel (barely), Chisel ground, No serrations

Scales: Green Micarta

Clip: non-hourglass

Additional Info: Plain jane version. File work only on liner lock. Slotted screws. i don't like the blade grind - doesn't have as pronounced an angle on the top front as some do - therefore doesn't look as "chisel like" - looks almost like the grind for a CQC-7.

CQC6, old style specwar logo, no date, checkered thumbwheel, one index detent on bolsters, no serrations on bolsters, black hourglass clip (with a hefty strip of grip tape added for purchase...) slotted screws, green micarta handles, satin blade, slight secondary grind, aggressively forward raked tip angle. this puppy's a user, the bevel is covered with small scrapes/scratches.

It's probably easier for me to post a picture then to try to describe each individual one. Notice no filework whatsoever on the halfmoon. Not even on the liner lock. Sniper, I will e-mail you the details of the individual knives for your list if you need.

Model: CQC5.

Grind: Left side chisel grind, single bevel.
Bolster: Bead blasted Titanium.
Scales: Green micarta
Clip: Satin hourglass

CQC 5: SPECWAR 2000 logo. Satin finished blade. Filework on both top and bottom bolsters. Green canvas micarta scales. CQC 6(2). Both with SPECWAR logo. One undated, one with 2000. Both have filework on top and bottom of the bolsters and both have green canvas micarta scales. Both have satin finish blades. ( pics are on the gallery. )

Model: CQC6-true left-handed version

Logo: Halfmoon

Blade Finish: Satin (Silver thumb wheel/checkerboard)

Grind: True chisel grind, no serrations

Bolsters: Bead blasted titanium w/ filework on top and bottom and filework on liner lock

Scales: Green Micarta

To my knowledge, this is the only, true, left-handed 6 of the Halfmoon era. True meaning that in addition to the clip being fitted for a lefty, liner lock moving from right to left, and right side grind.

I've got the information on 16 CQC6's and 4 of the CQC5's.

Give it up! The variations are interesting! Make sure yours is accounted for.

John:

I'm thinkin that was probably the only thing Florida has gotten right in the last couple of days!. . . . . Political comments aside, have ya got that new blade profile back yet from Oregon?

Owwwwwwwwwww. That stung.

Trust me, I'm as ticked as anyone.

I have it confimed that the "Combat Commander" blade was mailed "Priority Mail" yesterday. I'm still hoping it'll be here by Friday.
