Vasco Max blade alloy??

Today I received a Farid T1000 custom folder. The blade is marked "Vasco Max P", and this alloy has a very cool diamond carbide edge laminated to it.
After multiple web searches, all I can find out about Vasco Max is that it is manufactured by Teledyne. Can anyone tell me more about this alloy?
I'll post some pics of the blade tomorrow, but any info in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

Eric:
From what i'm told it is the steel used in Apache rotor blades, max RC is about 55 and is why the diamond carbide coating is applied to aid in edge holding.

The P stands for Prototype.

Eric

I talked with Farid at the Blade Show and Kevin is spot on with the story I got from him. That Vasco Max has a really cool look to it, doesn't it?

And if you think the T1000 is huge, you need to see his T5000! It's beyond description! Massively HUGE!

Help, please:
What is "diamond-carbide"?
Diamond is "pure carbon", so what is "pure carbon-carbide"?
Something like "iron-iron" or "coffee-coffee"?
Happy sharpening

John and Kevin, thanks for the info. I'll post some pics of this Farid later this evening. It really IS an awesome folder. 1/4" blade stock, titanium bolsters, 1/8" liner stock. The blade grinds are just incredible.
John, you handled one of these Vasco Max protos at Blade? That's where mine came from. What did you think?

Zut&Zut, with a name like that you criticize redundancy? Such irony.

Looked somewhat familiar, with a slight glandular issue.

Other then that, they were pretty nice. Like I said, the look of the Vasco Max really caught my eye.
