I was blown away this morning the pictures of this big folder by Marcial and Javier, posted on the Brazilian SBC forum. See for yourselves:

It´s a lockback with antique turtoise insert. The piece where the tip of the blade hides when closed is acctualy the button to release the lock.

I really liked this one.

Simply gourgeous!!! That turkish is wonderful! (think I'll have to kill the bastards...)
Great work Marcial and Xavier, congratulations!

Un abrazo hermano!

Simply WOW!

The South American makers have a really clean sheet of white paper to start with, and have been impressing me one after the other.

Not only that little tip guard and lock, but I like the rounded inlay within the sharp border.

Thanks for posting Jeff. Congrats to the makers!

An original design - that is nice!
But combined with amazing Damascus makes it b e a u t i f u l !!

All the best,

Another awesome piece of work!! Boy I tell you these Brazilian guys really have it going on with the art quaility of their work! Each one we see now seems to be on a higher level of craftsmanship!

John, Marcial and Javier are from Argentina, not Brazil.

One important thing: these guys make their own damascus.

That damascus is outstanding as is the design. I like everything about it.

Thanks for posting it.

Man that got my blood pumping. I love that steel and this turtle nose I have not seen before. Would you call this a turtle nose lock back dagger?

What can we say? Thank you very much everyone for your kind remarks in particular to my friend Jeff for his translations, my English is terrible, and the Master Teacher Rodrigo for not having killed us when it could do so and also to teach how to make this damascus, profound gratitude, honor and glory to them.
Again thank you very much.
Saludos, Javier & Marcial. VdS.
