That is huge. And beautiful. I would like to have something like this in my kitchen Though last year i lost two fingertips. With a tool like this i would loose an arm.

It's a lot of work doing a FFG on a blade that tall. I did one and it required lots if sharp belts.

thanks bruce was the first time i did the joint with a dovetail. the other one i did with the 3/4 inch wheel and then fought to make the wood match up.
giedymin the cleaver makes keeping your fingers out of the way even easer but since its 2x heavier then a nakiri yes it can bit you if you let the fingers get under the edge
