I have a small classic sebenza (with a wood inlay) which I'l like to be able to carry in pouch on my belt for a posh carry (rather then EDC). I can only find really cheap sheaths or leather ones though and wondered if anyone could help.
I'm in the UK which might cause a problem as well

You don't want leather? Kydex will work but won't look as nice. Leather is the way to go when it comes to the wood inlayed models. Shoot me off and email I can make a leather belt sheath for you if you are interested.

I'm a vegetarian so don't really want a leather sheath. Kydex would scratch the hell out of the Ti very quickly (I think) so don't really want that either. I was wondering if anyone made a high quality fabric pouch that fitted it well.

Are you going to eat the sheath? :D
well no, but that's not really my point. I'd rather not have a lump of dead animal holding my knife onto my belt

Is not eating meat rare in the US? A little over 5% (about 1 in 20) people are veggi in the UK

Plenty of vegans and vegetarians here, it seems to be growing in popularity. So, you are not ok with a piece of dead animal but you are ok with a piece of dead tree on your knife? I don't understand, they're both living things.

CRK used to have Cordura sheats (I have one...)

Can't find them on the site anymore though...

Cheers. someone is running a sales thread of tad stuff over on britishblades so it should be easy for me to get as well.

It was the absence of the cordura sheaths on the CRK site that made me start the thread. Did they make different sizes for the small and large or was it one size for both? maybe I should post in the wanted section of a few forums

I thought vegetarianism was a diet- Eating vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and often including Eggs & Dairy products.

The way you are going about it sounds more like Animal Rights Activism.
Those people are all a bunch of idiots.

I'm not trying to ridicule, and certainly respect your right to be vegetarian, or not use a leather belt sheath. I dont see anything wrong with that! I was just curious, what kind of shoes do you wear? Are any of them leather:eek: :D

BTW, sorry I didnt have any good suggestions on a belt sheath for you

Rat, it's just too bad you aren't going to Blade this year.

I sure would have liked to meet ya ;) :D :D

Maybe another time...

I'll second the TAD S2 sheath for the small Sebenza, they are the best cordura sheath I have found.

Don't let these knuckleheads get to you, if you don't want to use leather that is up to you, the reason shouldn't matter to anyone else. I think the kittie lovin', tree huggin', tofu eatin' Sebenza fan is as much my brother as the leather wearin', game shootin', veal eatin' Sebenza fan is.

I do have a synthetic leather watch band -- for wear in the water. It looks pretty nice. Maybe Leatherman or one of the sheathmakers can gain access to it???

I also saw David Brown post a pretty sweet pic of a "leather-ish" looking kydex sheath he did for a fixed blade -- it had an "engraved" pattern look. Maybe he could line the inside w/something to soften it and keep it from scratching?

Finally, I have seen some plain manufacturers sheaths in a nice black nylon that had a bit of a sheen to it. It looks a little "dressy" -- at least more than a "flat" black cordura sheath. But I don't know where you would find someone to make that for you?

Good luck

Andy,
Email me your address. I have an extra CRK cordura sheath I will send you. It fits a small Sebenza so I am guessing a wood inlay model will also fit.
stjames was correct. Pay no attention to the knuckleheads. Do what your conscience tells you to do.

I forgot to welcome you here!! Ignore the knuckleheads, like the other folks said. Thomson, that is REALLY nice of you to send Andy a sheath. I have 2 sisters that are Vegan. Good for you for your choice!!

wow, thanks very much. that sounds idea

As for footwear mostly fabric these days as it's not too tough to find non leather footwear anymore (at least in the UK). FWIW I don't eat meat becasue I don't feel that the animals are treated very well when it comes to slaughtering them. The eggs I eat come from a farm that doesn't sell the chickens after they stop laying and if the meat is for yourself it doesn't have to go to a slaughter house. I don't like meat anyway
