Is there a reason I see absolutely nothing about this company other than in wanted-to-buy posts? I really love a lot of their design aesthetic. Found them on DLT, and they seem to do drops there a couple times a year of 200-400 knives that sell out rapidly. I've been successful picking up a Tunnel Rat and an Oxus.

The business model is not super clear to me. I gather they have some full customs and some in-house production, and also that they collaborate with other makers to do knives with both maker's stamps where varying parts of the manufacture are outsourced, but the different levels of their manufacture aren't real clear to me. I think the Tunnel Rat was in-house production, the Oxus was partly outsourced, and the MACV SOG bowie was designed by them and produced entirely by Bark River.

The fit and finish of the knives I do have are absolutely stellar, though. They have something of a vintage look that is modern at the same time, and they're very pleasant in hand with sheaths that are extremely well designed and made as well.

Yet no discussion here?

I think the main reason its quiet is that they are fairly hard to get, they have a facebook group that is very active if you are interested in Vehement specific discussion. Vehement does some full custom knives, in house production knives, and Midtechs. If you have specific questions about them I am happy to help to the best of my knowledge. Overall his attention to detail is second to none, uses good materials, and is very pleasant to work with. The leather work is also very nice, I use his wife's (skin bender leather works) designed pocket slip daily.

I recognize the customs when I see them. Am I correct in assuming that the Tunnel Rat was in-house production, the Oxus is a midtech, and the MACV-SOG was a designed-by knife wholly produced by BRKT? I'm relatively new to them, but I seem to recall a Kuto Misa DLT drop before I started buying them. How often do you get shipments?

I really love the designs. I will probably never use any of them, to be totally honest, but I really like the designs and the drop method, which is a fun chase, and they're rapidly becoming my collection of choice for high-end production/midtech knives. They're expensive, but given the infrequency of drops and the hard-but-not-impossible acquisition, if I limit my collecting to Vehement and the occasional high-end Spyderco and my users to Spyderco, I oddly kind of feel like I have my knife habit under something resembling control...

I actually am in the Vehement Syndicate Facebook group, but I kind of hate the Facebook knife community in general and prefer to do most of my idle discussion of knives here.

Correct on the productions.

Agreed, I much prefer here to facebook, there is so much nonsense on facebook.

Also wanted to thank you guys for the Oxus drop. I had a glitch that spiked my blood pressure when I couldn't load the site at 2:55 p.m. last Friday, but I got all logged in on phone (even though I had to add my payment info, update my account shipping address, and log into the site) all before 3 p.m., and you guys were really helpful on Facebook chat.

Of course, then as it turned out I didn't actually need to have my order in before 3:01 p.m. to get one like I did on the Tunnel Rat, but that's all good. Now I'm sorely tempted to pick up a second.

Glad to hear it! Matt Martin did a really nice job on these.
