Read "MHI" last year. Just finished reading "Monster Hunter Vendetta", lots of fun! Hope Larry can keep it going.

Can you give us a bit of the plot without spoiling it?

Vendetta takes place pretty much right after the first book. Owen has royally P.O.ed a Lovecraftian god with his antics and now has to deal with supernatural hitmen, a spy in the midst of MHI, and constantly dealing with Agent Franks as his government appointed bodyguard.

Goat-Suckers, trolls, orcs, gnomes, big guns, HI Khuks...it's a lot of fun. A worthy continuation of the series.

What Steely said. The wild spins done with mythological creatures are great! I'm particularly fond of Skippy & Tribe.

Huh? I'm confused, but Lovecraftian definitely got my attention. Please explain.

Well during his time with MIH, Owen manages to wound a god-like monster from another dimension. It's talked about and described as being massive and so powerful that it simply looks down on humans as if they were insects. Ya know, standard Old Ones fair from Lovecraft stories:)

Spoiler Alert
MH Vendetta has monsters, guns and big knives.
Oh wait--- that's what it is supposed to be:D

The book follows the same characters as in MH International and some of them get fleshed out a little more in Vendetta.
I personally like the way he has dealt with orcs, elves and trolls--- he gives it a different twist.
Always an entertaining read.

This thread got me to buy MHI. I want to say thank you. Possibly the most fun read I've ever had. Haven't reached any khuk content yet.

Keep an eye out for the Stig reference. I can't remember if it is in the first or second book, but it's funny. Larry has a few other books available as well.

Started reading Monster Hunter International [MHI] based on the comments here. Made it through to the Ganga Raam khukuri part, which is cool.

A book which MHI readers might enjoy---though it's quite a bit weirder/more surreal---is John Dies at the End. (Which apparently started out online, then was published as a print book. I listened to the audiobook version, which is pretty much the only way I have time for fiction these days.)
