For those who are familiar with this stone, please have at it. This stone which I have already acquired the 240, 800, 1200 grit. Waiting for the 400 grit to be restocked @ Gritomatic so I may complete my desired progression. I will be using these stones on my Hapstone v7 which a lot of you folks know is similar in the function and design of the Edge Pro.

Ok, now for my question. I am new to diamond pastes and sprays. If I choose for e.g. a 0.5 / 1.0-micron progression would I be taking a step back or going in the right direction coming off the 1200 grit? Sorry for being a bit wordy.

I think the 1200 is around 3 micron so the 1 micron paste should follow that ok. There is a warning on the site about making sure you keep the 1200 lapped or it may act more aggressively. I have just started using the Venev stones freehand, so someone with more experience with them may offer more advice.

I have 2 full set's of the Venev stones and really like them not as much as the Poltava Metallic Bonded CBN I have,the Venev stones seems to work really well and alought I'm n Micron expert I won't comment on that but what I will say is use Kangaroo leather for the strop's I make my own or you can buy them from Gritomatic.

I found when I used the CBN Stropping Paste on my strop's it left a waxy coating on the edge of my blade and I figured all I was really doing was just stropping that coating of waxy crap so I heated the strop's up after I had applied the CBN Paste and not for very long either because you don't want to over heat the leather and dry it out,I just used a hair drier on high and only heated it until the waxy crap went into the leather and that was it,I still had to wipe the edge off after I heated the strop up but that was only on one side for the use after being heated.

I may have used to much of the Paste but from what I can tell I did not use very much at all.
 
Why did you get paste instead of say cbn emulsion or spray like the Ken Schwartz /Hand America stuff?
