Venting Gas Forge Question

I am thinking of building a gas forge. My shop is in a 30 x 40 pole barn. How do I vent the fumes off the burner. Do I use a hood? If so, is this done in a way similar to the way they do it on a coal forge? I can open the doors in the summer, but in the winter, it will be closed up. Thanks, Dwain

You want a fresh air source in a winter shop.A roof vent with a fan and an open window will work.A hood would be nice,but I doubt many makers use one.Never run the forge in a closed room!
