Mostly I'm trying to find out if they got the spring breaking thing figured out? I know the originals were prone to snapping but how about the updated model?

Also, I'd like to know about how much grip the scales have when compared to the Broken Skull or the Recon 1? Any and all owners thoughts on the Swift are welcome!

I just got a Swift II. The newest version with the safety. The scales are smoother than the Broken Skull or Recon 1. Still have plenty of grip. They are 3D machined and very comfortable.
The blade flies out with the assisted open. Locks up rock solid like all other Tri-Ads.
Obviously I can't speak to the spring's longevity. But this is a popular model. I don't think a few reports of spring breakage should deter you.

I have one of the original Swifts that is still working just fine, but I'm not the type that plays with it. I open, use, close, and put it away.
