Verifying the age of my 110

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and new to collecting Bucks. I had a 112 that my uncle gave me, until someone stole it. I just picked up a 110 over the weekend, and I'm trying to figure out how old it is. I looked at the data sheet, and I think its a variation 9 for 1968-70. I just wanted some help confirming it. The knife has Buck and USA on the right side of the tang, inverted, on two lines. There is no mention of the steel type anywhere that I can see. It has three bolsters, 2 rear and 1 front, visible on both sides. There are three brass rivets. Two are small, and the rocker has a head on it. Does this sound like the correct age for this knife?

if everything you stated is correct...I'm assuming that the big rivet is the rocker pin...and you are correct about right hand side stamp...then it sounds like you are correct.
Pics are always nice to help...and we like to look at them :)

Had to wait until I got home, but here are two shots of my prize!

Welcome to the forum.

Fritz, I did a search for Buck knives on my local craigslist. Found a listing for a tool sale where the guy said he had a lot of vintage knives. This was the only 110 he had. Needless to say, I brought her home!

Cool, never thought of it-gonna try right now.

I always bring extra cash when meeting people to buy from Craig's list...sometimes they have other knives too...got a few good ones that way ;)

Man, I wish I'd had some extra cash with me. He had some beauties! I know its not the right forum, but he had a mint condition, never used WW2 Kabar! One of the coolest things I've ever seen!
