Hi, I've attached some photos of this knife that has been in my family since the 70s. Bit of backstory: my grandparents used to own a hotel / italian restaurant in the Catskills during the 70s, and this knife came from there.

It's in somewhat rough shape, but I have seen knives in much worse shape, and I wanted to try to restore it. Full disclosure, I've never restored a knife before, but do consider myself pretty handy. In my current work/living space situation, the simplest restoration possible (ie. disassembly, cleaning, removing corrosion and repairing any damage, and reassembly of all original parts) would be ideal.
A few questions:
- is the handle salvageable? it feels like it's made from plastic and there is significant corrosion between the tang and the handle
- is it possible to reuse pins? these seem like nice brass pins
- any other thoughts or opinions on how you would go about restoring this knife?
Thanks!
