Vert Play in Jot- Warrenty?

I have plain edged Jot with some vertical blade play. When I push the liner lock "more open", ie, move the lock manually past mid line, it reduces or kills the blade play. I've contacted Spyderco, and they suggested I return it to have it looked at. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems (specifically with a Jot, but a liner lock with pinned mircata scales aswell) that they had corrected by syderco? I'm very interested in having the problem corrected and the blade reissued to active duty, but I am concerned about possible costs. Any ideas on what max fee would be to recondition this knife? I know I'm abit muddy with my description, so if there are specific questions you have that would make your answers more clear, let me know and I'll do my best. Thanks for any and all help, E.

afee - Vertical play is usually a warrantee issue. I Don't think it would cost anything.

One of my Jot's has developed blade wobble..side to side play and two of my Jots seem to be seperating at the top: the scale from the liner...
Yes..Sal I'll send them in for Vince to check on them....
no I've NEVER cut with them..I opened them a few times..They sit in the display drawer..I decided to check it out after reading this post...

Sal, thanks for the response, I'll get that in the mail first thing. Hope its fixable, but I guess I'll be hearing from you guys in a bit either way. Thanks again, E.

I think I'll be sending mine in as well. I didn't notice it until the other week, and was about to start my own post on it. Please don't take this as a complaint, I love Spyderco's...can't wait to get me a Gunting.

After all this time, mu Jot has finally been replaced! As of Mon. I am the proud owner of a brand spanken new Chinook upgrade. It has a 903 by the hole, so i think its one of the first runs, but i don't know. In any event, my delema is over, and its time to move on. Thanks Mike (at Spyderco), i appreciate al the help! If any one has any trouble with your knife, call Mike directly as he's the man with the answers. Very much appreciated sir.
E
