I'm a novice. My only experience so far is reading the posts and owning a elevator cable knife for about 20 years.
I want to build a forge dedicated to one task, cable knives.
In reading the posts regarding flux damage to the forge lining, kitty liter etc. I thought of the following:
A vertical forge in which my material is hung down into it. Any flux would fall through the lower end opening and no floor to worry about.
My main concern is the heat profile top to bottom. Has this been done?
Your coments please.
