Hi folks, some times you just like to carry a knife cross draw but the sheath you have is a vertical carry, such as this one for my Lionsteel M1, so, you can take a section of leather to wrap around through the belt loop slot and then add a snap to turn it into a horizontal carry. The start of the strap I left a section wider to catch the portion of the existing belt loop so it would keep it in place. Here's what it looks like;

and a shot of it on the belt. an added benefit of this is if you need to remove the knife quickly, you can unsnap and slip it off the belt pretty easily and putting it back on does take a few seconds but you get the hang of it right away.

Hope that gives you guys and gals something to try out.

Thanks Chip, I was trying it cross draw but find I like the 'scout' carry better, at least until I thin down a little ;)

edited to add....I'm all about simple, just ask my wife and kids :)

You’re most welcome it works great and makes the knife carry in a handy position plus if you need to remove it from the belt just a quick unsnap and you can slide it down and off the belt

Your idea is SUPERB...trying to buy leather cross-draw or pancake holsters can be very pricey.
I've used cross-draw for several yrs and like it, but have been thinking about a pancake as I could carry a longer blade more easily. However, it would also show from beneath my t-shirt (Florida).
You ALWAYS are full of great ideas...thx.

Thanks Don, it works exceptionally well but I have it up for sale as I am moving up to the slightly larger M4 model
If you have something that you might need to get something like that done just pm me and I might be able to help

I'm in the midst of a deal with my friend DavidZ DavidZ for his M4 Lionsteel knife and another friend @emjay4248 was kind enough to share an extra kydex sheath that he had for this very same knife. So I used the hardware that the clip was attached with, made a strap that is bolted to the top two screws and one at the bottom to keep it under control. The strap wraps around your belt and down over and snaps in place. I wear it above my right pants pocket handle towards the right and it carries nicely there and is easy to remove and return the knife. Also if I need to go into a store that frowns on knife carry, most all stores do frown on such things, it is easy to unsnap and slide the rig off the belt and then later slip the strap under the belt and snap it in place again.
