hi, recently got a new cammilus maxx dagger blade, have had an older bowie blade, but this new one is pretty darned cool, and well made to boot! compares favorably w/a real ralph maxx (i have a mini maxx myself)in many ways. is much better fitted than my older maxx. action is much smoother also. grind lines very even, and came fairly sharp, about 10 minutes on the sharpmaker and it was ready to go.

is hard to believe that it compares so well to the ralph custom version. is it as well made/fitted? well, no, but it dont cost $600+ either. but the action is almost as smooth, flicks out real easy, not many grind marks on the 'horn' like my older one had, lock up is excellent, blade is finished better, wow, they must have the bugs worked out on this one now, i'm impressed, certainly the nicest cammilus i have ever seen........

have had a CS vaquero grande, a REKAT sifu also, and as far as a big knife goes this maxx blows those awawy, not even close. this is MUCH cooler/better made knife compared to those two. carries well in the pocket, have a new clip coming for it, should be even better then.

a great knife imho, the dagger prob isnt as good for edc as the bowie, but imho it looks much cooler and it'll cut anything i need to cut. the fullers on the side of the blade look cool too.

all in all a great knife, well worth the money, newgraham is were i got mine, a little over $150 plus shipping, a good price too.

if ya want a big folder, this is the bomb, an excellent knife imho.

I bet you're happy :D I like the Camillus Maxx and I like my Darrel Ralph custom too. (It didn't cost quite $600 ... ) My Camilluses are all bowies but the custom is the dagger, 5.5" D2. Great piece of design and construction. I got to handle the 7" spearpoint at the recent NY show also. Carefully

:p

Have fun with it!

I recently acquired a stiletto Maxx, too. I was very impressed. It's not perfect, but it's a lot of knife for the money. The 7" Maxx must be a sight to behold.

Just to make it seem even larger, we were going back and forth playing with that one and with a Camillus EDC with a three inch blade :)

The 7" open is really like holding a short sword. And it isn't flimsy, either.
