Here's a link. There's something a bit odd about the blade shape, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe some of the experts will chime in.

Well, I ain't an expert,
and it ain't a kukri.
Does that explain the oddity? :)

Are you sure it's the blade shape?

From the exhuberant use of capitalization and exclamation marks, this must be quite exiting and unusual:

"IT HAS A STAINLESS STEEL BLADE THAT RUNS THROUGH A WOODEN HANDLE AND COMES WITH A SHEATH!!!"

I've had a strong taste for a Bowie since a couple of weeks before the Atlanta show and have read just about all I could find on the net regarding Bowie and his blades and Jim Bowie was apparently a LOT of things in the 40 yrs. he lived, but a Ghurka wasn't one of them! :-)

Larry - we met at the Show, right?

I say to the wife "Hey, come see this khukuri..."
She says "That's not a khukuri."

;)

So, I show her the one JP posted....

"Now that's a khukuri...!"

So, do you think I should retract my bid  It even looks like it has a cho, though it is lacking the traditional dangling uvula thingie in the cho. What is the name for that thing anyway? Is it just part of the cho? Dan, would you be able to attach an aftermarket cho uvula for me if I win the auction? Maybe do some sheath work too. I'll email you if I'm the winning bidder ;)

It even looks like it has a cho

It looks more like a Spanish notch.

I thought you were kidding when you put this in the kukri category. It ain't no kukri. No way, no how and just cause the seller calls it one means nothing.

I was joking, people, geeze. :D I'm not a knife identification expert by any means, but I'm pretty good at placing things in broad categories like bowie, kukri, etc.

Thanks, Dan. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you putting that bowie in my avatar for me; it really personalizes it.

Yes Daniel, we met when you were halfway into another life (had a yellow t-shirt on that said something about "pendentive" or something close to that on the back. I was on my way to the Japanese cutting demo and was late and I saw the shirt and........it's all sort of fuzzy after that...getting visions of a stand-up comic doing a routine containing Bowies shaped like Khuks and so-called Khuks shaped like........getting fuzzy again............
