Very Sad Day

Sorry George. I'll never forget how lively she got when she smelt the Krispy Kreme's.

That is depressing. Losing pets is losing family.
Remember the good times now that she's at peace.

Thanks everyone, things like that can really break you up.

I couldn't bear to be without a dog right now so I called the breeder we had bought Maggie from and he had 5 puppies on hand from Maggie's mother, 9 weeks old. We went out to his place and interviewed all 5 for the position of irreplacable friend, talked it over for a long time (whether to wait or not) but decided to bring Bella home with us.

Bella seems to be very aware of what is going on around her, doesn't avert her gaze when someone is looking at her, and is very friendly with strangers.

I can't imagine Bella replacing Maggie, no puppy can, but I do expect her to become a true and affectionate friend in time.

I can't imagine a more positive move for your family or a more fitting tribute to Maggie than continuing her tradition.

George sorry for catching this so late. I feel for you. Having just lost a few pets that we loved this summer its something that hits close to home for me. I wish you and yours a quick recovery over your loss. In my prayers.
