i'm always looking for a good deal and i would assume that my fellow knife lovers are as well.

deal #1 crkt m60 (small version)

deal #2 gerber firestorm (iraq version)

incredible that these are so cheap...a lotta bang for the buck!

Toss into that the Buck Bantam, Ka-Bar Folding Dozier, Opinels, Douk-Douks, Okapis, Mercator K55K, Spyderco Byrd line, Benchmade Vex, Boker Subcom, Case Sodbuster, and SAKs. There's a whole list of stuff that costs little and handles quite a lot.

Plus Benchmade Monochrome. Outstanding steel in a great design. ~$35 online.

For the bang for buck factor I'm waiting for the Buck Vantage Pro to be in better supply. USA made, S30V, BOS heat treat, G10 with Buck's name on it. <$50 street . . .

I've always enjoyed a good working knife. Knives that are rooted in tradition and are admired for doing their job are what I'm after. Not only have they been tested through the ages, but they also tend not to be showy or fancy. I would say that they tend to not be showy, but those Laguioles and Nontrons can be quite pricey while still being functional. Mmm...Nontron...

Big +1 on that. It even LOOKS like a nice knife.

Kershaw Shallot with CPM S110V blade. The shallot itself is a solid design, to have it in a super steel two levels above S30V and priced at $60-ish is a steal.

Another is the Buck Mayo 174. I think its called the Hilo. This folder is as good a value as the discontinued Camillus EDC (Daryl Ralph design).
I also consider the Spyderco Endura & Delica to be solid folders that are a good deal.

Its almost funny how these days with so many affordable knives with good quality available you’d think people would be spending less. For me at least the reverse is true. I always say to my self, hey its only $40 or its only $50. You do that 7 or 8 times and your spending really money. You do that 7 or 8 times a month and its no wonder I’m so broke.

Gun and knife shows.... My brother bought a knife at a gun and knife show. He told me he paid 50 bucks. He didn't know anything about the knife, but after seeing my knives he just had a feeling this knife was special. . It was a well used D'Holder. Best bargain I ever heard of as they are quite pricy.

I8 posts and no mention of Beckers? IMO by far the best buy dollar for dollar there is From the quarter inch thick BK2 Campanion aka the Becker Train Wrecker to the BK7 Combat Utility or BK9 Combat Bowie and the BK11 Becker Necker each one of these well designed solidly made with 1095 steel stand up to knives that cost eight times as much. Since my purchase of a BK2 a few months ago, I've become a big Becker fan and have gotten one of each of the above. Nothing real fancy just a well made American product with a long history of being real working knives for the working man.
