I have a Hogue ex-01 and the lock is very sticky. The harder I open the blade, the stickier the lock is. I don't think I'm opening it unreasonably hard.

The surface of the lock that touches the tang has a very rough finish.

Is there anything I can do to make it better?

Try coating the areas that tough with Sharpie marker....sounds weird, but ti worked like a charm for a few sticky locks of mine.

Or graphite from a pencil.

My Hogue has been awesome, and there is a chance you have a defective part.

If it were me, I'd take it apart and see whats going on. I'm not recommending that you do that, but I suffer from tinkeritis.

If a little sharpie or graphite doesn't work, contact Hogue, they have great customer service.
