Very upset about my Sebenza

I have some complaints about the Sebenza after a couple years of use

- Lockup is too solid. It locks up with no blade play and is completely solid in every way possible.
- Too sharp. It can cut stuff too easily
- Too easy to maintain. It comes apart too easily and is too easy to reassemble.
- Size is too perfect. I can't even feel it in my pocket.
- Stonewash finish is too good. It hides scratches too well so the blade looks brand new even after a lot of use.
- Too simple looking. The Sebenza doesn't look gaudy or tacky enough.
- Warranty is too good. The lifetime warranty is too long.

I like my other knives like the BM710, Spyderco Military, Emersons etc. But I always come back to the Sebenza. It's just too reliable.

Clearly, you have a lot to beef about. Send it on over here, I'll arrange for proper disposal. :D

I have experienced similar "problems" with my Sebenzas. I'm glad that I'm not the only one!!:D

Perhaps my biggest complain is the addiction. My Sebenzas have put a serious strain on my financials due to their induced need to acquire more, and the whole ongoing Sebenza-caused obsession distract me from other matters at hand. The physical affliction of having over-developed thumb muscles from the constant propensity to execute open/close cycles is, quite frankly, a social embarrassment. ;)

My sebenza sucks so much, I haven't bought another knife since buying it!

:-P

It's pretty much the only knife I've used for every task (work, EDC, cooking) for the past 3 months, and it rocks. I like it more every time I use it.

Only wish I could take mine out and use it the way Chris intended. Thee are not many safe queens in my modest collection but there it sits. Comforting to know it is so well thought of.

I for one was so disappointed with my small Sebenza that I went out and got a Mnandi. The Mnandi is equally disappointing in that it is beautiful, it is very smooth to open and has such perfect fit and finish. I tell ya, what's a guy to do? Now I have to save for an Umnumzaan or a Large Sebenza 21.

True story -

...My friends used to ask if I had a knife on me they could borrow.

...Then they would just ask to borrow my knife.

...Now they just ask which Sebenza I'm carrying and if they can borrow it for a second.

I have other knives, but I think I've developed a pattern;)

Hey, while we're talkin' about it, it's quite upsetting to realize all the valuable time and energy wasted trying to figure out which CRK knife to purchase -- the Sebenza and all its variations vs. the Umnumzaan, the Mnandi and all of its way cool inlays, the military fixed blade knives, and now the way impressive kitchen range. Thank God they retired the one piece range -- those superb tools made for even more decision constipation. That kind of selection stress causes many of us to be put into the dismal abyss of owning several CRKs, for fear of psychological damage of having to choose just one.

From there, there's the stress and anxiety of having to choose which CRK to carry. That's enough to throw anyone over the edge, since it recurs daily. It affects the wardrobe, as one is replacing clothes with additional pockets just to gain some EDC selection release by carrying several. You're tardy for work or school because of prolonged EDC selection processes, other toy acquisitions suffer, grades drop, relationships fail, bankruptcies occur, panic in the streets, wars break out, pandemics kill millions, world economies fail, gravitational constants on the planet shift, the space-time continuum is fractured . . . well, maybe other toy acquisitions don’t suffer -- let's be realistic.

Ain't it the truth! No matter how many "cool" "this is the one" knives I buy/trade/own, I always and I do mean always come back to my loyal, trusted and always realiable Sebenza.

Thanks Chris for coming up with the best all around folder ever made!
