Just curious if anyone has found anything particularly good for concealing a handgun worn on the belt.

Should be heavy cotton, no insulation (and no fuzzy stuff like fleece - I hate fuzzy fabric). The big problem with most vests I find, is that the armpits are cut too low, so the butt of the gun shows. I've found a few that work, but nothing high-quality.

So, anything that has worked particularly well for you?

Well, I tend to where hiking and camera vests for my concealed carry.
As a matter of fact, My wife just got me a new one at Kittery Trading Post. Check them out. Lots of good vests that are great for Concealed carry. Plus there are pockets out the wazoo for spare mags, compass, etc. The vest has been such a standard dress item for me, for soooo long that I have a selection of about 8 standard rotation models depending on how I am dressed and where I am going. It is the perfect cover IMHO.

Here's a travel/safari type vest from USCAV, I really like mine. We have a courier that comes by the office that has worn his daily for 3 years and it's got a few thin spots but overall it's still holding up well.

Clyde,
Yep, that is pretty much what I wear. I have about 4 variations of that sort of vest. I also have a few leather, slighty dressier western vests that will hide my Kahr, but not my Sig 220 or Springfield 1911. For cool weather, I have insulated vests with lots of pockest also.
I think that a vest of good enough design can be a small bug out bag all on its own. Carrying most items you might need in a day to day basis.

I wear leather vests that I bought at Wilson's Leather. They cost me about $30 each. I wear these vests with a plain t-shirt or with a button down shirt when going out to dinner or on a date with a my wife.

You should also check out the V.O.M.P. (Vest of Many Pockets) by Tilley Endurables. Basically it is just a really well designed and built photographer's vest.
