What do I think, WOW!

So much for the collectors who won't touch nickle silver. Their (big) loss!

That's a beauty! Great detail work and the Damascus pattern is just plain Cool!

The point on that knife is scary. I can see it used like it is in those Western movies when the gambler sticks his knife through the cards into the table to make a point (get it, sorry, corny humor).

I've never seen a clip like that and am confused at its location and how it would be clipped to ones vest. Can you explain how it is used?

Bruce,

The clip on the sheath is, just right. That is a hard feature to make look cool and you did it quite well.:D

This knife and knives like it, are why I make knives.

You always give us something to strive for, Bruce.

Thanks for posting, Fred

Very cool knife, not that we all didn't expect something great when we see your name on the post. But this one is taking it to new levels

Bruce- Did Tom put the pins in the handle too, or carve to pins that you placed? The engraving he did around the handle and sheath REALLY set it off nicely.

Dan- Pure Nickel 200 is a totally different animal than nickel "silver"

Just like I said in the custom forum... this piece is DYN-O-MITE! :D

edited to add... in this thread Bruce said it's Nickel silver, but in the custom forum he said it was pure nickel powder he forge welded solid.

Hi Nick,
Tom carved and then drilled the 1/16" holes and let me install the pins. I used NS and domed the 72 pins. Took all dang day.
Thanks for the JJ pic. I still like that show.

The guard and pommel are canister forge welded Nickel 200 powder from Kelly Cupples. That stuff shrinks just so ya know. It took 3 tries and a full pint can all together. Its soft too but at least I can say "I did it".

You guys are too kind, Thanks for all the nods.
This knife wasnt an easy one to make and it took forever it seems. The blade was the easy part but the challenge was in the handle carving. I found it neccesary to employ my friend Tom Ferry for that. To talk with him you may get the feeling it was easy for him but I bet he had trouble too. Anyway He's happy, I'm happy and best of all the new owner is happy.

The sheath was a first for me too. I've never made a clip before or a fiberglas body before. The fiberglas is fun to work with but the smell seemed to linger inside for months. Why dont Corvettes smell? I was afraid to store the blade in it as the smell might rust it. It has a thin leather liner that fits the blade very well with no stitching and the glas is applied in several coats and shaped between each coat. I like working with it way better than trying to make a wood sheath that shrinks or warps with weather.
Just rambling here. Stop me if ya want.

Again thanks friends

Amazing!

It's like how they take a supermodel cover girl and do all the air-brushing and touch-ups to make them look like the perfect specimen... only this doesn't need any touching up.
