Vesuvius v. Temperance in lock strength (Sal?)

Well, I wrote this post in the Spyderco forum but no one has answered yet, so I will try here:

I was curious as to the design of the compression lock on the Temperance and the Vesuvius, and the comparison between them.

I understand that the Temperance is branded as one of the three MBC knives out there, and that a requisite for MBC-rated lock strength is a minimum of 200 pounds per inch of blade.

My two questions are:

1) Even if the Vesuvius is not branded as an MBC knife, is the lock on this knife executed the same way as on the Temperance

2) Does the Vesuvius have the same lock strength that the Temperance possesses?

Thanks in advance,

The compression lock on the vesuvius is much thinner than that on the Gunting. I can't compare to the Temperance Jr since I don't have mine yet but I would assume the same applies. Since the vesuvius' lock is thinner than the Gunting that would leave me to believe that it is not nearly up to MBC rating.

Hi Flood. Sorry some of these answers take longer. I can't always get to the forums every day.

1) As Think said, the Vesuvoius has the same type of lock executed in the same way.

2) The thickness of the material in the Lil' Tempeance is the same as the Gunting, and is of the same lock strength. The thickness of the lock in the Vesuvius is thinner and therefor not as strong.
