I'm looking at the Vesuvius PE as my next EDC purchase. Could some of you who own or have owned one let me hear your opinions of and experiences with the knife. I am lookling at getting the less ornate version. Any reason why I should be looking at the version with the shell inlay?

Hi trane_fan,

I have an inlayed Vesuvius and it's one of my favorite Spydies.
I like the ergonomics of the handle and the shape of the blade, the
ATS-34 seems to hold an edge very well.
As for your question about the "bugged" version vs. the inlay version,
I would say to get the one that you like the best.

Hope this helped.

I personally prefered the blue inlay version.
You might want to check out the knife before you buy. The early pieces from them are kinda tricky to get right and you might get a bad lock. I did, but Mike swapped it out for me pretty quickly.

You might want to do a search bro. I had one that felt great in the hand but had a LOT of lateral blade movement. :( Sal told us that the vesuvius hadn't turned out as well as they had expected and that it was being re-engineered. You might want to hold off until they get the bugs worked out. At least check it REALLY close before you buy it.
