Remember those have given all.

To my brothers in arms, thank you for your service...and to those currently serving....we owe you a major debt...and my hope is that we keep true in an attempt to pay it.

Happy Veterans Day to all the brave men & women serving,as well as all who served.

To all that have given the ultimate sacrifice & their loved ones,I thank you from the bottom of my heart...for you have not died in vain.

My thoughts are with you all not only on this day,but everyday you are put in harms way.

Godspeed on your safe return home:thumbup:

My veteran's day just got turned around. I'm used to people talking about my sacrifice, and doing the oh so serious sad thing over the day. And I appreciate what little recognition we get (since most of Veteran's Day seems to be furniture sales)

But my son, my five year old son. Now, he's not figured out that it's all somber and such. He's busy in the kitchen making me cookies to celebrate my veteran's day. I like this plan, I must say.

So, dammit, celebrate. It's not always pretty, and some percentage of us are all messed up with skin, hearing, lung, joint disorders. We give or gave a lot out of our lives and we have some intense memories, for good or bad.

But I'm getting a bit tired of it being the victim day where a few people acknowledge our disabilities and no one celebrates our.....whatever you call it- duty, tenacity, ass whoopingness. Patriotism. So I am going to have a friggin cookie, and make someone buy me a beer later.

Happy Veteran's Day, hats off to the rest of ye, and celebrate what is arguably something well worth celebrating.

Your right Koyote. This should be a day to be reminded of our Veterans service, but also to the freedom that they won and protected for us. Maybe an opportunity will come up today to treat a veteran to a beer or cup of coffee or something. I can at least thank a friend for there service. Anyway thanks for yours and everyone else who served honorably.

Thanks 65Hoss and back atcha.

In the closest two little townships nearby my rural home are parades and outdoor B-B-Q's at the local US Veterans Memorial.. All are welcome and the celebration is quite festive. We always pay our respects and its a good time for all!. To all who gave and to whom gave all! Cheers, this one is for you.

We will NEVER FORGET!

Best,

Just got back from a veterans day speech at a local elementary school. My color guard did a great job and i hope we can instill a sense of pride in our youngsters.
God Bless America and all my brothers and sisters in arms

God of the ages,
We thank You for all who have served in the armed forces of this country.
We thank You for the freedom their sacrifice has earned and guarded for us. Help us to prize this freedom and use it well.
We ask You to bless all living veterans in a special way today, as well as the families of all veterans.
Comfort those who grieve for those who gave the last full measure of devotion.
Strengthen those who bear physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds.
Stand with those who provide care to them.
Move us to reach out to sisters and brothers who are veterans, or relatives of veterans, or who currently serve in the military.
We pray for those, living and past, that have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend our freedoms.

We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

To John Davis Harvey. 1959 to 2000. Rest in peace my Brother. Semper Fi.

And Happy Belated Birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life".
