Don't know quite what to make of it. Seems we have two different stories.

"Dave,

I got the official story. In order to get that discount, you needed a card with a discount code. When we first put this program in place, we sent cards out to Vets. Since then we also gave the cards out at shows, ect. The cards are gone now. Our site needs some work right now so we are not looking at doing this program again right now. Hopefully once our site is operating properly, we can look at this again.

Anyone with a card should still be able to use it from what I was told.

I hope this helps.

Dave,

It's likely two different stories about two different programs.

Here's what I told you in that other thread a couple weeks ago.

I think the only remaining problem is that there seems to be a bit of confusion about the discount program for military veterans.

This is separate from and has nothing to do with the "Prosite" program. It's a straight 50 percent off list price.

It's just a nice gesture from Buck to those who have served in the military.

I suspect that Joe got the information about the "Prosite" veteran's program.......and that's a different program......with a slightly better discount.

Here's Joe's second e-mail to me yesterday about it. As it seems to indicate that he has read the recent posts regarding the subject, he must have a way to monitor the forum undetected.

"One of the posts implies that someone here is doing these discounts. I need to check that out. Not that it’s a bad thing, I just don’t want to give out the incorrect info.

I’ll let you know if I find anything useful.

Thanks,

Yes, it's clear that right now it is a fact that there are two programs going.

1. Vet's discount of 50% available to all veterans and accessed by phone.

2. Prosite Vet's discount of about 60% which is partially suspended at this time and can only be used by the remaining vets who still have access cards and appears to have been intended to be primarily or entirely accessed through the website.

That may well be the case. I'm still a bit confused that on the registration page of the Pro Site, the choice given for your description is "Military", not "Military/Veteran". Would the same discount hold true for Veteran Law Enforcment or Veteran EMT's, cause I'm a Veteran LEO?

I'm looking forward to Joe's findings to clear up all speculation about the program.

Good question about Veteran LEO.

Yes, it will be good to get all the loose ends tied up.

(At least they are still keeping my credit card payment and haven't returned the money......well, last time I checked.....maybe I better check again.)

:)
