Wow! No really.....WOW!

Managed to score a satin with green linen and I have got to say that SRKW has hit it out of the park with this blade.

Not since the original RW or the Hairy Carry have I had I gotten this "feeling" from a Rat.;) I guess I better start holding Rats more often.:p

Anyhow.....are there plans for a release of these bad boys?

Thanks to the BF member who helped me score this one.

The Vex is definitely a winner. One of my favorite knives regardless of brand.
Glad to see you like it by the way!:)

The man's hooking up people with Vex's, RMD's...good lord...are you...Santa????

Please tell me there's a first run Dog Skinner or Rat Hunter in your bag Santa! Please!

:)

Related question: Best sheath for this??? (With pix, of course)

I'm still on the fence on keeping mine. I've talked about it enough. A nice sheath may make the difference.

I have a Buy Brown kydex sheath and like it a lot. The only caveat is, since the vex handle is smooth micarta, with no protrusions on the pommel to secure your grip, it can be tough to pull out of the sheath. I added a short lanyard, which helps a lot. I might end up sanding a small swell into the handle to make the grip more secure.

I have been looking to score a vex since I saw a picture of one. I have not been able to handle one, but it looks to be just what I am looking for. Now, I just need to talk someone out of one, or SRKW needs to make a run of them.

Yep....finally got home to do some comparisons. Appears to have the same blade length as my LrMrS but the handle is wider and shorter. Which is going to make IWB carry extremely cool.

Waiting on a Buy Brown sheath myself. Fold over (taco) which I'll add a IWB snap/strap to. Looking forward to breaking this one in!

Still wondering if there's going to be a regular run on these. Wouldn't mind picking up another one.

LOL!
I wouldn't buy a lottery ticket today!:D

hah! :D

On a serious note...my vex sheath has lip for the thumb to help push off and is no problem removing it from sheath.

I am finding that while I like the knife a lot, the thin handle tires my hand after a bit.

I picked up a Green River #4 at Blade, I've been carrying it IWB (just tucked in) strong side, off and on since.

I keep forgetting I have it.

I agree with the OP ;), it's a great EDC and I'd love to see some more available from SR !

WOW, my first un-obnoxious post to the SR forum :o.

No dead Rat pictures :D

JJPS & Cheese Grits

I missed the boat not picking a Vex up at Blade, had on my INFI blinders. :o

Great feeling knife and SHARP

Congrats on the score.

I'd love to see this happen. I've handled one and want one very much. Unfortunately not many people are looking to trade on for folders or scrapyard knives.

Without having tried one in hand I am leery of buying one, especially at aftermarket prices, as I like having guards on my knives. If they did a broader release with simple micarta scales I might have to try one out.

I don't stab people very often, so for my uses guards aren't terribly important on a knife the size of the vex.

Sure on a big knife, where I might be doing drilling or prying, a guard is nice, but for an EDC slicer, the most violent thing I'm likely to do is peel an apple, and a guard just gets in the way for tasks like that.

It's really not that bad. With the big choil that you have to use, it's very difficult for your fingers to ride up. It's like using a chefs knife, where the heel of the blade protects your fingers, making a guard irrelavant.

My favorite swamp rat since the inficoot. If it were an infivex, it would top that too!
